I would rifle through them one after another.

I'm not sure if it was because of the carbonation or the sugar or the fact that, on an island this hot it felt good to down something that cold.

I've switched to making a large batch of sun tea using decaf tea bags. I also go with the lemonaide, so leaving Coke behind was actually pretty easy to do for whatever reason.

I greatly love anyone who waits for the work and, really, I wish the wait wasn't this long. But thanks for the encouraging words.

Keith Knight is easily one of the under-appreciated talents in the industry. That's just my feeling. He's the reason I'm in comics today.Tom Belandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09539131347930264161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675429174319574057.post-19687793489498034222008-08-01T14:38:00.000-07:002008-08-01T14:38:00.000-07:00Hi Tom, As a thirty-nine year old fellow Coke a...Hi Tom,

As a thirty-nine year old fellow Coke addict, your comments regarding your health issues are driving me to taper off on the stuff. If it weren't for the caffeine headaches come from going cold turkey, I would get off of it entirely. My job as a security guard gives me way too much time for passive- i.e. unhealthy- eating and drinking habits. I could imagine that your job as a cartoonist/artist offers some of the same problems.
Just out of curiosity, how much Coke did you drink in a given day? I find that after about one liter, soda is much too sweet and I switch to milk or water. Do you think you were more addicted to the caffeine, the sugar, or the taste? What fluid(s) have you chosen as your replacement drink of choice? Are you conquering your addiction and avoiding temptation?
Sorry for the blitz of questions. I'm just hoping that there comes a point where you're at your emotional and creative best. I don't care how much longer it's going to take to get out another issue of True Story, Swear to God. I WILL be there to support you once you decide to return. I always look so forward to the release of each issue.
I also wanted to drop you a line letting you know I was thinking about you while reading Keith Knight's The Complete K Chronicles. His caricatures of you are quite funny. You should also know that it was your repeated mentions of his work within True Story, Swear to God that drove me to buy and read this. By the way, it can be found for a very cheap $17.00 on Amazon.com. I'd only been exposed to a couple of strips before now. Thank you for suggesting him. He is an extraordinary talent of whom I plan to shoot an e-mail once I'm done here. I'm just hoping that Dark Horse Comics will work with Keith on another compilation.

In closing, I hope things get better for you, Tom. I'm still hoping to meet both you and Lily on the convention circuit at some point. Bye for now.

Sincerely,

Patrick HermanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
